We’re All Living

This is the messy, dirty, exhausting and wondrous adventure called life

One of my friends is traveling the world
One of my friends is going through a breakup
One of my friends is a recovering addict
One of my friends got the job of her dreams
One of my friends is battling cancer
One of my friends is having a baby
One of my friends has found love
One of my friends is at a concert
One of my friends is alone tonight
One of my friends has apraxia
One of my friends has endometriosis
One of my friends struggles with schizophrenia
One of my friends has an autistic child
One of my friends has written a book
One of my friends is in a TV show
One of my friends has saved a life
One of my friends dances naked
One of my friends is a sex worker
One of my friends is a corporate lawyer
One of my friends is a volunteer firefighter
One of my friends has a friend who is dying
One of my friends has a friend who’s in prison
We’re all doing the best we can
Life’s what happens while you’re making plans
We’re coping with what we face
We’re limping through this mad race
We’re hoping for joy, praying for grace
We’re all flawed, and barely cobbled together
We’re all blessed, and divine, and glorious
We are all worthy of love
We all breathe in
We breathe out
We are alive.
